Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program

A win-win program for both participating stations and the FCC. Eliminate drop-in inspections for a three-year period. Sign-up today!

If you haven't heard, the FCC has been making the rounds. Perhaps your station was passed by - this time. But if you were one of the unlucky ones, an FCC visit could have been avoided. For those of you who have yet to sign up for the Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP), and narrowly missed a visit from the Commission, there's still time. Even if you've already been hit, protect yourself for the next three years with the Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program.

Here's how it works. Call the UBA at 486-9521 and request an Inspection agreement. Or print the form below. Fill it out, sign it and return it, with a check, to UBA,at 1600 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84115. Within a 150 day period after the UBA receives your agreement an FCC approved field inspector and former FCC field technician, will be sent to your station to conduct a compliance inspection.

During the 150 day period, you have a choice. If you want to be protected from any drop-in FCC inspection during that time, UBA must notify the FCC that you have applied for an ABIP inspection, and the date of your application. If you do not want us to notify the FCC until you have successfully completed the inspection process, then you will not be protected during the interim period. Your choice. Either way, you will still enjoy 3 full years of protection from the date the inspection is completed.
